Air Fresheners

If you enjoy your air smelling fresh and clean, but you use air fresheners to get that smell, you are inadvertently clogging up the air and adding toxins to your home. We're sorry to say you must let go of the air fresheners if you want to be an advocate for green cleaning.

The three main offenders found in air fresheners are:

  • Fragrance - The part that we love so much is also one of the most damaging to the environment. That clean lemon or sweet lavender scent is created in a lab with a variety of chemicals. These are harmful to your nose, your lungs, and can cause a variety of symptoms like dizziness, headaches and nausea.
  • Pesticides – It might sound hard to believe, but many household air fresheners include some pesticides as ingredients.
  • Formaldehyde – This is thought to cause cancer in humans, yet it's often added to air fresheners, especially those that are plugged into the wall.
