Cleaning Using Green Products
Green cleaning is taking the world by storm for a reason. Think about some of the traditional cleaning methods:
- You wear gloves when spraying cleaner and then scrubbing it up
- You run the fan in the bathroom after cleaning the toilet
- You are careful about where you spray cleaner in the kitchen
Does any of this concern you? We do these things because we know that cleaning our house with traditional cleaners can be dangerous, or toxic, or harmful in some way. We might even be sure how.
But the reality is that traditional cleaning products are harmful. They are full of toxins that can fill our lungs, and, when washed down sinks and toilets, can also pollute our rivers and streams. It's estimated that 90 percent of poisonings happen in the home, and it's usually a result of a child getting into common household cleansers.
There are many new house cleaning products on the market today that take a "natural" or "non-toxic" approach. These cleaners are safer to us and to the environment. They also do a darn fine job of cleaning our houses. Some of the most common brands include:
- Method
- Seventh Generation
- Ecover
